The Negro League Series contains 3 fabric portraiture works by artist, Rosy Petri. Created from a love of the sport and the contributions of both the men and women who simply wanted to play the game and did so with the highest caliber of skill and style.
Each piece showcases the care and attention to detail Petri grants all of her works of art. Honoring the legacies of a few of the greatest to don a uniform and play ball.
It was such an honor to work with Rosy Petri, artist and 2020 Mary L. Nohl Foundation Fellow. Contributing my first published essay, "Advocating Boldly" to Petri's, "With Harp and Sword in Hand."
